what is ARP/RARP ?

ARP is the method used to map a 32-bit IP address to a 48-bit Ethernet address. The ARP function occurs between the Internet and Network Interface layers of the TCP/IP model



RARP is the method used to map a 48-bit Ethernet address to a 32-bit IP address. RARP is one of the protocols that a system can use when it needs to determine its IP address.
